John Howkins, father of the world’s creative industry, led a delegation to the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, or E-town, on Nov 10. Zhang Fengmin, president of the town’s trade union federation, greeted the delegation.
Both sides exchanged notes on development in E-town and the China Investment Association. Howkins said that E-town has undergone huge development and has a unique edge in location, development space and talent management. He hoped to cooperate with E-town to stimulate business, integrate science, capital and creative elements, and attract more emerging companies.
Zhang pointed out that E-town has a strong creative atmosphere and the town has paid great attention to talent development. It offers comprehensive policy support on awards, housing and education. At the moment, the town is applying to become a national cultural demonstration zone and will focus on the industry development in its Hexi district. Zhang hoped that Howkins’ team could join E-town and bring in more cultural creation projects to help the town’s development.
